The
Passing of a Wolf Angel
June 10, 2008
It is with great sadness
that we report the loss of Michelle Silmon,
founder of Grandmother’s Rescue Center,
who crossed over the Rescuer’s Bridge
Tuesday, June 10.
The picture below
is of Michelle with Fish, a longtime sanctuary
resident, who also passed over the Bridge this
past Feb.

Michelle Silmon
June 14, 1952- June 10, 2008
Her memorial was June 14, on what
would have been her 56th birthday.
Among the attendees were some of
Michelle’s oldest and closest friends
in the rescue world. The ceremony was well attended,
and her birthday and her life were celebrated
after the memorial service.

Adoptable
Shiloh
- Adoption Pending
Shiloh
is a 5 year old male who's owner can no longer
keep and care for him. She is in her late 60's
and her health is failing. He is a beautiful
animal and needs to have a special home where
he will have an escape proof enclosure. He would
be a wonderful companion for a sweet female
wolfdog. His owner is almost out of time being
able to keep him and has expressed that the
very last resort would be to have to put him
down, and his situation is very heartbreaking!

Fire
Fire
is a 6 yr old female wolfdog who must be rehomed.
She is located in Tennessee and we hope to find
an awesome home for her within a reasonable
driving distance from there.
Fire is
a little shy in the beginning with people but
once she gets to know someone is just fine.
She is a sweet & social girl who was raised
with children, gets along well with other dogs
and has no aggressive tendencies. Unfortunately
she lives in the middle of horse country and
it is foaling season and because of her predatory
instincts, should not be placed where there
is livestock. Fire has been escaping her enclosure
which is not secure enough to keep her in so
she will need a secure, escape proof enclosure
in her new home. She can be taken for walks
on her leash and has ridden in the car from
TX to TN when her mom moved from there. At one
time in her younger years, Fire was house trained
but has not been in the house for a few years.
She will undoubtedly need a refresher course
in house manners.
